In Acts 17, Paul stood in one of the most influential centers of ancient culture and boldly proclaimed the truth of God to the philosophers of Athens. With the Parthenon towering nearby and a city filled with idols around him, Paul used the setting itself to point his listeners beyond human wisdom and man-made gods to the Creator of all things. In this presentation, Nancy Baber explores the historical setting of Mars Hill, Paul’s message to the Athenians, and the enduring challenge for believers to value and proclaim the wisdom of God above the wisdom of the world.
